Ready or not!

So I was sitting on the couch Sunday, March 3, 2013. I was watching TV and Andrew was doing homework. I had felt fine the whole day. No contractions or anything just super uncomfortable but that was normal. I had gone to the doctor on that Friday before and wasn't dilated at ALL! So anyways I was sitting on the couch and all of the sudden I leaked a little. I knew I didn't feel like I had to go to the bathroom so I jumped up (well got up as fast as I could being so large!) and as I was walking to the bathroom more just kept coming out! I went in the bathroom and yelled for Andrew to come in. He came in and saw what was to be seen and asked me what to do. I said I didn't know. I will call my mom! So I tried to call my mom but she was on the phone with someone else so I kept trying and then I tried my dad and he answered and I of course start crying and then I tell him what happened and he says "well your water broke". So he tells my mom that my water broke so she hangs up with the person she was talking to and tells me what to do. I am 25 years old. You would think that I would have known what to do, but no I needed my mom to tell me.
Around 7:00 pm
So, I changed me clothes and we headed to the hospital. As we were walking down the hall to labor and delivery I started to "leak" again. Andrew told me to walk faster, but I could only walk so fast! By the time we got to labor and delivery by pants were pretty much soaked. I looked like I had peed in my pants!!! The ladies kinda laughed at me and I said "I think my water broke!" They told me I was probably right! I got all checked in and we called the parents and siblings to let them know. The nurse checked me and guess what I was dilated to...a big fat ZERO!!! Yup! The nurse laughed and said that she had never checked anyone whose water broke and they were dilated to a zero! She told me that we were in for the long haul. Then my doctor came in and told me pretty much the same thing. They told me I was probably going to have my  baby the next day and not til late afternoon the next day! So I was psyching myself up for a long labor! They gave me some Cytosin (or something that sounds like that) to get me started. I would put a 1/4 of a pill in my lip and let it dissolve. I would do that every three hours. I was on my second pill around 11:00 pm and I was starting to feel the contractions and they seemed to only get stronger. The nurse came in and checked me at 1:00 am and I was at a one. She did say that I was progressing good. Well the contractions just got worse and worse. I had them give me some pain meds that lasted about a half hour and then it would wear off. The contractions got so bad! I would try and stay relaxed, but holy cow that is tough! I was planning on the epidural the whole time but knew I had to wait til I was at least a four to get it. The nurse came in and checked me at 4:00 am and I was 4.5 she was surprised at how fast I was progressing. She told me she was going to go get my doc and the anesthesiologist. Well they were in a C-Section so she said it would be a little bit. So by 5:00 am she came in and said that they were still in surgery and will come in when they get done and that it shouldn't be too much longer! We kept the pain meds coming, but by then they weren't even touching the contractions!!! By 6:00 am the nurse said that the doctors will be in about ten minutes! They didn't get in until 6:30 am! It took them forever to come in especially when the nurse tells me it was going to be sooner! So the anesthesiologist came in and was telling me all the risks and everything that comes with an epidural. Wrong time to tell someone in that kind of pain those things because pretty much just get rid of this pain!! So by the time they got the epidural in and it was starting to kick in it was past 7:00 am! Getting the epidural wasn't bad but the contractions I got while getting the epidural were brutal! The anesthesiologist kept saying just breath the pain the away! I AM SORRY! NO UTERUS NO OPINION! He also making jokes and talking to other voices! Come on dude! Not the time! Anyway I got numb and was starting to be able to breath again. So the nurse came and checked me at 8:00 am and I was ready to go! The baby had dropped and was ready to come into the world! I delivered McKoy at 8:23 am on March 4, 2013. The delivery really wasn't bad at all. I think I was lucky that way. I tore a little bit and had to have a few stitches. It was the best feeling when they put the baby on your chest for first time! It was so amazing! We weighed 5 lbs 12 oz. 19.5 inches long! So tiny!! So PERFECT!!
My fingers got super fat and swollen so we had to take a picture. The picture doesn't do it justice.

Yes I am giant!!! So glad that isn't me anymore!
